Fallout 3 Review

If you ever asked me what my favorite game of all time is, it's got to be Fallout 3. But just by any chance you have never heard of Fallout 3. Here's a brief explanation on what type of game it is!

Fallout 3 is an post-apocalyptic, open world, role-playing game that was created by Bethesda Studios and judging from the name, it's the third game of the Fallout series. The game was released on October 28 2008 worldwide and is available on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC . Now that you know the basics of it, let's talk in more detail about the elements.

You start the game in a underground bunker known as Vault 101 that has not opened , one out of 122 total vaults made in the Fallout universe in the case of "total annihilation". Your the son of your father James, the vault doctor and voiced acted by Liam Neeson. Life in the vault is all normal at first. Getting a Pip-Boy 3000 on your tenth birthday. Taking the G.O.A.T when your sixteen to decide what job you will do when you are an adult. Until you are 19 years old and your best and possibly only friend of the vault, Amata tells you your father has left the vault for unknown reasons. The Overseer of vault 101 is furious and orders the guards to go after you. You fight your way the vault door. which then you, The Lone Wanderer, adventures into the ruins of Washington D.C in search of you father...

Once you enter The Capital Wasteland. You will most likely find yourself getting distracted with the vast open world that the game has to offer. While you explore it you will run into some very interesting characters to say the very least. Some of them giving you side quests that will make you completely forget about the task to find your father in the first place. As you explore this wasteland, your welcomed by the lovely inhabitants of the Capital Wasteland. Super Mutants, Raiders and the Demon-looking Deathclaws to name a few. You counter these foes by using a wide range of weapons. Admittedly, the real-time combat is not great. However, you have a fun little game mechanic called V.A.T.S (Vault-Tec Assited Targeting System). This allows time to stop and allows you to target a certain main part of the body. If that be the torso, legs, arms and head. This makes combat more interesting and alot more fun. The amount of shots you can shoot depends on your AP (Action Points), these points will vary depending on how you level up. As you progress through the game. You will have to make a fair share of choices, some of these having a effect on how the game plays out. But mostly it has an effect on your Karma. Doing good deeds will raise it, as bad deeds will decrease it. This has a major effect on how people in the game world interact with you and the play style of the player. This allows you to do multiple playthroughs . If it's Convincing people out of a gun fight, to blowing up an entire city because some guy you met in a bar told you so, you can do it in Fallout 3.

I really can't explain everything without accidentally spoiling the main story bit by bit. However, if you have never played Fallout 3 to this day. I highly recommend picking it up and it is dirt cheap now-a-days.
